There’s plenty to do on our mountain and loads for your school kids to learn. We’re Melbourne’s closest alpine resort, located just two hours from the CBD so getting here is just a bus trip away.
With several mountain bike home trails and over 35km of cross-country ski trails, our mountain has all bases covered from short, beginner loops for novice riders and skiers to more challenging terrain for those with intermediate to advance abilities.
Summer Season
Once the snow has melted, our mountain has some of the best bush walking trails, which are well-marked and well-maintained, making it easy to explore our sub-alpine environment and enjoy the spectacular views. Trails range from our Leadbeater’s 600m return to our Summit 5km loop, surrounded by Snow Gum and Alpine Ash woodlands.
Winter Season
We offer cross country ski equipment rental packages to pre-booked school’s only, which will get you out venturing around the ski trails, perfecting your cross-country skills whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery. No Ski lessons for 2025 snow season.
If your group are first timers and just wanting to experience the snow, you are also welcome to simply spend your day sliding down the toboggan run and mastering the craft of snowman building.
Alpine Resort Victoria – Lake Mountain Ski Patrol do not provide risk assessments for school groups.
