Things to Do

Tobogganing

It's action stations on the toboggan slopes with a sure fix of thrills and spills.

GUARANTEED to provide hours of fun for the whole family, the Lake Mountain Alpine Resort has four dedicated toboggan slopes in the main resort precinct with runs to suit every level of skill, or bravery.

Toboggans and waterproof clothing are available for hire at Resort Hire, located in the administration building.

Guest services and ski patrol keep a close eye on the toboggan areas to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone.

Toboggan runs:

Village

Located right next to the rental outlet, fun for everyone on this groomed slope, with plenty of snowmaking. Village toboggan run has a moderate gradient making it very popular with all the family.

 Koala Creek

Just beyond Village Run, Koala Creek is a bit steeper, often with bumps and dips for the real thrill seekers. It is groomed, dependent on conditions and benefits from our snow making capability.

Leadbeater’s

Leadbeater's is 200 metres from the upper level car park. It is a sheltered, moderate slope with some steeper sections.

There are more toboggan runs located at the other resort car parks, however these runs are NOT groomed or patrolled.

For safety, please note:

  • Only moulded-plastic toboggans are permitted. Other types are not allowed and fines can be enforced.
  • Toboggan only in designated areas, NOT among the trees and rocks.
  • One person per toboggan. However, a small child is permitted to ride with an adult.
  • Kneel or sit only in the toboggan. NO riding toboggans "head first" or standing.
  • Do not make toboggan trains with other toboggans.
  • A helmet is a smart idea.

Conditions for hiring toboggans at Lake Mountain:

  • The exact toboggan you have hired must be returned. Each one is numbered.
  • A $50 fee will be charged for failing to return your toboggan.
  • Please stow hired toboggans in your car when they are not being used.

Please note: In line with all other Victorian alpine resorts, snow mats/ sliders, snow bikes and tubes currently for sale at a number of retail outlets are not permitted at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort. This is in accordance with the Alpine Regulations (Management) Act 2009, Regulation 15.2.  We apologise for any inconvenience.
