Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is approximately a two hour drive from the Melbourne CBD, travel out through the Eastern suburbs, through the picturesque Yarra Valley then wind across the Black Spur to Narbethong and take the turn off to Marysville.
Once you arrive at the quaint township of Marysville, it’s a scenic 30-minute drive to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort. Take care on the road up through winter watching for icy conditions, and through the warmer months be on the look out for cyclists.
On occasions, due to heavy snow fall, it is necessary for two-wheel drive vehicles to carry and fit snow chains. Check out our home page for the daily snow report and driving conditions for chain requirements or contact the resort directly on 03 5957 7201. Traffic advisory signs are also located at Marysville. Chains can be hired at Narbethong and Marysville.
Public transport from Melbourne is fairly limited, catch a train out to LILYDALE on the LILYDALE LINE which times in with the McKenzies Bus Service - runs once or twice daily to EILDON.
This option will require you to stay one or two nights in the township of MARYSVILLE, in order to catch the Lake Mountain Bus organised by Country Touch Tours up to Lake Mountain from Marysville - ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH WINTER
Please contact them directly on 0417 633 753 or firstname.lastname@example.org to get a quote, bus timetable or organise a place on their tour bus.
