The Bjarne K Dahl Memorial Walk at Snowy Hill is wheelchair accessible.

A SCENIC two-hour drive from Melbourne, Lake Mountain Alpine Resort provides you with unique picnic and walking, opportunities. With new, free BBQ facilities available, have a cook up and enjoy a nice hot lunch!

The most popular choice for walking is to venture up to the 1433m summit of Lake Mountain - it has the most incredible views from several lookouts and on a clear day you can see the CBD of Melbourne.

Alternatively, explore the sub-alpine ski trail network on Echo Flat and beyond on the Lake Mountain Plateau. More than 30km of trails are available, winding their way through snow gums, heathlands and fields of wildflowers. The plateau provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing picnic with friends in our refreshing alpine environment.

Guided group walks with our very knowledgeable and engaging environmental officer, Sue, offer a fascinating insight into the flora and fauna of the area. The walks are available to groups over the summer season and need to be pre-booked by telephoning 03 5957 7222 or emailing admin@lakemountainresort.com.au.
