A scenic 2 hour drive from Melbourne and you are in another world. On a summers day, what better place to come and have a picnic! The cooler alpine climate at Lake Mountain, means that a stinking hot day in the suburbs, may be a lovely mild day in the alps.

Whilst a lot of the forest and bush at Lake Mountain is still in stages of re-growth after the 2009 February Bushfires, areas such as Arnold Gap and Cascades still remain green and vibrant and make ideal locations for a family picnic or a romantic day trip.

Need supplies for your picnic? Why not order some gourmet sandwiches, a salad or some scones to go with a lovely bottle of wine. The new Bistro is open from 8am to 4pm during the week and 9:30am to 5pm on weekends.
