Get Adventurous this Summer

News Article: 17/10/2016 by Meghan Hill

Plan to see some of the great alpine outdoors this summer holidays. Discover a sense of adventure, and encourage the kids to find theirs. Embrace the feeling of accomplishment by facing challenges both physically and mentally with the support of friends and family, while enjoying a fun day out.

Opening 28 December 2016, Lake Mountain Alpine Resort will host its very own Summer Adventure Activities Program.

Activities run 9am to 4pm daily, through to 15 January 2017. The activities will then reopen for the Easter Break from 14 April to 17 April 2017 inclusive.  Large group bookings are available upon request throughout January – April.

Experience the exhilaration of a dual flying fox. Strapped into a full body harness, clipped onto a single wire, individuals must find the courage to take the leap off the platform solo. Or, the beauty of the dual line is it provides the opportunity to hold onto a friend’s hand and take the leap side by side. Fly 240-meters through the air and enjoy the views.

Take a slide down the 100-meter tube run, there’s no way to steer the inflated tubes so hold on for a wild ride while spinning and hurtling up berms.

Join in a game of laser skirmish, a combat team sport similar to paint ball but without the bruises! Making it much more enjoyable for kids (and adults of course.) Rally all the troops as there’s a minimum number of people needed, then be fitted out with laser tag guns and hats with built in sensors. There’s multiple game options available which all work well in amongst the alpine environment.

Explore the resorts extensive track and trail network on foot or hire a mountain bike. Single lane mountain bike tracks continue to grow with over 20kms ranging from beginner to advanced. Alternatively, the cross country ski trails are open for some wide, easy riding - ideal for families. Lake Mountain Café has a range of different sized bikes available for hire which all include a helmet. The Cafe is open for refreshments everyday throughout the activity programs and also home to a giant indoor Jurassic themed jumping castle!
